9 Nov (Saturday) Defence Force Careers Expo

13th Nov ( Wed) Law Event  University of Newcastle 

Location: NUspace (City Campus)   Time: 5pm – 7pm   Date: Wednesday 13th November 2024  Canapés and drinks will be provided.  Register here  

14th  - Microsoft Visit  (Year 11 ONLY) - School excursion Advanced English and Mathematics Female students


Week 7 - Work Experience week  (Yrs 10-12)

28 Nov - Year 9 TAFE Multi-Campus excursion (50 students)

DECEMBER

2 December - Year 10 University of Newcastle Campus tour and visit day ( 50 Students)

9&10 Dec First Aid course ( Year 10 -  20 students opt in)

 9&10 Dec Barista Course ( year 10 - 15 students opt in )

The next course will run at WWHS in Term 1 2025 Register your interest here to go on the list. You will be notified in Term 1 when the planning takes place. NOTE: Students actively going on work expereince in Term 1 will get priority of places.

Note:  Places are limited to 20 per group so you will NOT be guaranteed a place in a course -  All registered students on this list will be emailed a permission note and the first students with payment and permission will be included in the course. You may choose to visit external providers to complete your course if you need it before the next course runs.

START and aim to submit EARLY! 

1. Research the company and learn all you can about them - visit their website

- the work they do

- the roles they employ

2. Research the role you are looking at (google) 

- what qualifications you will need

- what personal qualities

- what tasks your will perform

3. Read the position advertisement carefully and highlight key points  - make sure you target what they are looking for in your resume and cover letter. 

4. Draft your resume and cover letter 

5. Book an appointment with Mrs Abbo and review your application before you submit Book Here

Newcastle University  FREE School Holiday NUPrep Courses 

Students aged 16+ are invited to participate in FREE short university courses. These NUPrep courses will contribute towards students’ preparedness for HSC exams, starting tertiary education and their success in future workplaces.  

Courses run at different times over the holidays, either online or on campus. Check out our website and select “I am a school student” to browse the courses available and for further information. Enrolments are open now.
